Indonesia recruits 5,476 staff for coastal villages under KNMP Program

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian government has launched recruitment of 5,476 personnel to help manage coastal villages empowered under the Red and White Fishing Villages (KNMP) program nationwide.At a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan assured the public that the selection process would be open, transparent, and accountable, and free of illicit charges.”There are no special admission paths, no nepotism, and no fees. Any promises to pass recruitment in exchange for a reward are definitely scams,” he affirmed.Hasan explained that the recruitment is open to candidates holding an associate, applied bachelor’s, or bachelor’s degree in any field, with a maximum age of 35 and a minimum GPA of 2.75.Successful candidates will be employed by state-owned fisheries firm PT Agrinas Jaladri Nusantara under two-year contracts, he added.The minister went on to say that the government intends to prioritize empowering local applicants.”If two candidates earn the same score, the one from the region nearest to the placement location will be given priority,” he stated.On the same occasion, I Nyoman Radiarta of the Marine and Fisheries Human Resources Development Agency, said the recruitment targets four key roles: manager, head of production, quality assurance staff, and finance administrator.Managerial roles require at least a bachelor’s degree, while associate degree holders can apply for the other positions, he added.Indonesia aims to complete village development projects under the KNMP program across 1,300 locations by the end of this year.The government has also initiated recruitment for managers of cooperatives established under the Red and White Village Cooperatives program, with registration open until April 24.
