Indonesia-Russia cooperation shows rapid progress: President Prabowo

Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto said discussions and developments in cooperation between Indonesia and Russia have been highly productive, showing rapid progress across various sectors.Prabowo made the remarks during a bilateral meeting with Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin in Moscow on Monday local time.He noted that in recent months he had met with numerous delegations, including representatives of the Russian government and companies, both in Jakarta and Moscow.“I recently met with several Russian officials and companies. I am very grateful as the discussions have been very productive,” Prabowo said.He added that nearly all areas of cooperation previously agreed upon between Indonesia and Russia have now shown significant progress.“Almost all sectors that we agreed on several months ago have experienced rapid development,” he said.However, Prabowo acknowledged that several aspects still require acceleration and will receive his direct attention.“There are one or two areas that we need to speed up, and I will handle them personally,” he said.Putin said Russia remains open to expanding cooperation with Indonesia across various fields and described his meeting with Prabowo as substantive.He also highlighted economic and trade cooperation as a key pillar of bilateral relations, noting that trade between the two countries has increased by 12 percent.Putin added that both countries continue to prioritize strengthening cooperation in a number of strategic sectors, including energy, space, agriculture, industry, pharmaceuticals, and humanitarian fields such as education.
