Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto departed for Moscow, Russia, from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta late Sunday (April 12) for a one-on-one meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya accompanied the president on the flight.Teddy said the delegation is expected to arrive in Moscow on Monday morning local time after a 12-hour non-stop flight aboard the Garuda Indonesia-1 (PK-GIF) aircraft.Upon arrival, Prabowo is scheduled to hold a one-on-one meeting with President Putin in the afternoon to discuss strategic issues, including energy security and global geopolitical developments.Teddy described the meeting as crucial, noting that Prabowo aims to deepen cooperation with Russia to ensure stable national energy supplies, particularly oil.On geopolitics, he said the president would reaffirm Indonesia's commitment to contributing to global stability and peace.Photos shared by the Cabinet Secretariat show Prabowo being seen off by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, State Secretariat Minister Prasetyo Hadi, State Intelligence Agency Head M. Herindra, and the chiefs of the military and police.The visit marks Prabowo's third trip to Russia since taking office, following visits to Saint Petersburg in June 2025 and Moscow in December 2025.As president-elect, he also met President Putin in Moscow in July 2024 to discuss regional stability.During previous engagements, both countries explored cooperation in new and renewable energy as well as nuclear technology.President Putin has expressed readiness to support Indonesia in developing nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
