Jakarta (ANTARA) – Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi stressed that the success of the zero over-dimension over-loading (ODOL) policy scheduled for 2027 will largely depend on the role of the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI).With thousands of member companies operating across Indonesia, ALFI is considered to hold a strategic position in building a safer and more reliable transportation ecosystem. The minister delivered this statement at the closing of the Indonesia Logistic Outlook 2026 and the ALFI Conference & Exhibition 2025 in Tangerang, Banten. He underlined that the support of logistics players is essential to ensure the zero ODOL policy is implemented without disrupting the efficiency of goods distribution.Dudy said the government and ALFI have spent years discussing solutions to address ODOL issues, making it crucial to accelerate the implementation of the policy. He noted that ALFI’s involvement is vital, as the association represents more than 4,000 companies directly connected to the movement of domestic and international goods. With this capacity, he believes ALFI can drive efforts to create a safer, more efficient, and competitive logistics transportation system. The minister also encouraged all stakeholders to treat 2026 as a year of accelerating national logistics transformation. He emphasized that Indonesia must move beyond its position as merely a market and advance toward becoming a modern regional logistics power. The government expects stronger collaboration between industry players, logistics associations, and related institutions to help achieve this goal. The Ministry of Transportation, through the Directorate General of Land Transportation, said it has prepared a special task team to speed up efforts to address ODOL vehicles. The team will formulate revisions to Law Number 22 of 2009 on Road Traffic and Transportation, particularly regarding law enforcement and driver protection. Its establishment follows a coordination meeting held on 1 October 2025 with several ministries, leaders of the House of Representatives, the State Secretariat, and freight driver organizations.Earlier, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono affirmed that the zero ODOL policy will not be delayed. The government aims to enforce the regulation starting 1 January 2027 and has called on all parties to work hard to ensure smooth implementation.
