Prabowo, leaders discuss Indonesia’s readiness amid global tensions

Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto met senior national figures and political party leaders on Tuesday evening to discuss Indonesia's readiness amid rising global geopolitical tensions.Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia said Prabowo emphasized the need for national unity and readiness to safeguard stability and security.”President Prabowo highlighted the importance of a unified stance and national readiness to safeguard stability and security,” Lahadalia said after the meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.The three-and-a-half-hour meeting focused on global geopolitical developments and their potential impact on Indonesia.Lahadalia said the government's current measures reflect efforts to anticipate various scenarios arising from global uncertainty.”The political parties fully understand the President's position and the proactive steps being taken,” he added.Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Chairman Al Muzzammil Yusuf said President Prabowo also explained Indonesia's foreign policy choices in responding to shifting global dynamics.”I think he described it as one of the more difficult options, but also the most feasible under the circumstances,” Yusuf said.Regarding tensions between Iran and Israel, Yusuf said Indonesia has sought to maintain domestic stability while strengthening food and energy security.The meeting was attended by former presidents Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Joko Widodo, as well as former vice presidents Jusuf Kalla, Boediono and Ma'ruf Amin.
