UAE president commits to increasing investment in Indonesia

Jakarta (ANTARA) – President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has conveyed his country’s commitment to increasing investment in Indonesia, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said.The commitment was expressed during a bilateral meeting with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at Qasr Al Bahr Palace in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, Wijaya said in a statement received by ANTARA from Jakarta on Friday.“The meeting discussed enhanced investment cooperation. Bilateral ties are being elevated. The UAE wants to increase its investment in Indonesia,” the Cabinet Secretary said.Wijaya stated the two leades discussed concrete steps to deepen the strategic partnership between Indonesia and the UAE, particularly in the investment and economic sectors, and agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and boost investment cooperation between the two countries.This enhanced cooperation marks the close and mutually beneficial bilateral relationship that has long characterized ties between the two nations.Wijaya noted that Indonesia is viewed as a key strategic partner in Southeast Asia, especially in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and future economic development.President Prabowo welcomed the commitment and reaffirmed Indonesia’s readiness to continue strengthening a conducive and sustainable investment climate. He also expressed Indonesia’s openness to broader collaboration opportunities for UAE investors across various national priority sectors.Wijaya added that the meeting between Prabowo Subianto and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed Indonesia-UAE bilateral relations as they move toward a more comprehensive and long term strategic partnership.The meeting carried added significance as it coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates in 2026.Half a century of relations between the two countries is now entering a new phase focused on investment, economic growth, and future-oriented partnership.
