Jakarta (ANTARA) – Ministry of Industry is preparing fiscal incentives and special facilities for industrial estates that transform into green industrial estates as part of efforts to accelerate sustainable industrial development.Director General of Industrial Resilience, Regional Development, and International Industrial Access (KPAII) at the Ministry of Industry Tri Supondy said the ministry is proposing stronger regulations that would require every industrial estate to develop a roadmap for transitioning into a green industrial estate.”We are proposing stronger regulations on industrial estates, under which every industrial estate will be required to prepare a roadmap for its transformation into a green industrial estate,” Supondy said during the inauguration of the Eco-Industrial Park Center (EIP Center) in Jakarta on Tuesday.According to Supondy, industrial estates that obtain green industrial status will be eligible for fiscal incentives and special facilities that will not be available to those without the designation.The incentives, says Supondy, are intended to accelerate the transformation of conventional industrial estates into green industrial estates that prioritize not only environmental sustainability but also operational efficiency and social responsibility.”This represents the transformation of conventional industrial estates into green industrial estates,” he said.Tri explained that green industrial estates are expected not only to comply with environmental standards but also to improve efficiency in management, organizational governance, and production processes while strengthening their social impact.”It is not merely about meeting environmental standards. Green industrial estates must also improve efficiency in management, organizational structure, and production processes, while paying attention to social aspects,” he said.Tri emphasized that industrial estates should no longer function solely as providers of industrial land, but should also promote environmental sustainability, economic efficiency, and social development.”Industrial estates should not only provide land for businesses. These three pillars form the foundation of what we call an Eco-Industrial Park,” he added.Regarding incentives for green industrial estates, Tri said the ministry is seeking stronger policy support through revisions to industrial estate regulations.He noted that future incentives could include both fiscal and non-fiscal support to attract more investment into green industrial estates.”We hope industrial estates will receive not only non-fiscal support such as facilitation services, but also fiscal incentives that can attract investors to develop their businesses in these industrial estates,” he said.According to Tri, the proposed fiscal incentives include tax-related support, while non-fiscal incentives would cover investment promotion, business facilitation, and technology transfer.The Ministry of Industry is also working with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to accelerate the development of green industrial estates in Indonesia by strengthening the Eco-Industrial Park ecosystem.The effort was marked by the inauguration of the Eco-Industrial Park Center, which will serve as a national hub for supporting the transformation of industrial estates into a sustainable industrial ecosystem.
