Some doubled, and some even said theirs tripled,Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto has said the government has introduced a policy aimed at creating a fairer revenue split between online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers and ride-hailing companies.Prabowo said the policy increased drivers' share of earnings from 80 percent to 92 percent.”We have also arranged a fairer revenue split for online motorcycle taxi drivers and app companies,” Prabowo said in his State of the Nation Address at the 2026 Annual Session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and Regional Representatives Council (DPD) at the parliament complex here on Friday.Prabowo said the policy was part of the government's efforts to ensure that ojol drivers receive a fairer share of their earnings. He added that the change in the revenue split had also increased the income of some drivers.The Indonesian President explained that drivers previously received only about 80 percent of their earnings, while the remaining 20 percent went to app companies.After the government issued a recommendation on the revenue split, the drivers' share rose to 92 percent, he said.”Previously, ojol drivers only got 80 percent of their earnings because the app companies took 20 percent. With the government's recommendation, I do not want to call it intervention; I'll use the word 'recommendation,' though it is actually somewhat of an intervention.
